We opened our doors to our valued guests on the 27th September 2001, which coincides with the "World Tourism Day". The Privilege is a family run hotel with Entrepreneur, Chairman Susil De Alwis F.C.I.M.A (UK) a veteran career hotelier with over 25 years of experience in international hotels combining his vast experience & innovative thinking at "The Privilege".

His primary objective is to be very personalized to the valued guest. Maintaining high standards & to be consistent is the owners philosophy in keeping with the exposure he has gained over the years.

He obtained a four year diploma in hotel management from Germany & he has also been at the prestigious Cornel university in U.S.A. Mr.Susil De Alwis was awarded the prestigious Fellowship from the Hotel & Catering International Management Association (HCIMA)UK. The owner was appointed the Vice President hotels of the Association of Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Sri Lanka for the second time in 2007.

Shamal De Alwis his son, having completed his studies graduating from Curtin University Australia with bachelor's degree in Business Administration is now the Business Development Manager for The Privilege. With his warm and humble personality he is committed to take The Privilege to greater heights.

Our team comprises of hand picked highly skilled professional hotelier's, most of who have wide experience in the hospitality industry, including two culinary art gold medal wining chefs. The staffs having worked in some of the finest hotels internationally and locally come from diverse backgrounds.
